At its November 28 monthly meeting the Session unanimously and enthusiastically endorsed the concept of a third Sunday morning worship service in response to the overwhelming encouragement of participants during this year’s Roadmap process.  Assistant Pastor Chris Bowen has been charged with studying, organizing and implementing this new worship service, in conjunction with the Roadmap Partnerships that have been created as a result of the Roadmap process.  Everyone at FPCC is invited to a series of three interest gatherings that will be held beginning mid -January to early February at location yet to be determined. Attendees will commit to targeted prayer for the new service and deciding whom they will invite.  The service will begin once at least 50 adults are actively engaged and support teams are functioning.  The additional worship service will be held in the Fellowship Hall on Sundays at 10:55 a.m. so that worshippers can attend their current Sunday School classes and take advantage of the nursery, security, golf carts, refreshments and other Sunday morning church functions.  Having the new service at the same time as the current one encourages unity and community as we arrive, worship and leave together regardless of which service we attend.  Pastors will rotate the preaching schedule among the two locations; they will preach from the same Scripture text each week Communion will be celebrated on the same Sundays.

For those interested in learning more about this additional worship service look forward to the future announcements on the interest gatherings. If you have questions about this new worship service please contact Chris Bowen.
