“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”…Matthew 11:28
New to First Presbyterian Church?
First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga welcomes you!
Thank you for stopping by our website. We are delighted that you are interested in visiting our worshipping community. Regardless of your beliefs or doubts, First Presbyterian endeavors to provide a safe place for you to explore and experience the truth, beauty, and goodness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As you consider visiting us on a Sunday morning here are a few things that we believe will make your visit more enjoyable.
In His Grip,
We have two primary parking lots. Directly across from our Sanctuary, you will find the First Presbyterian Church(535 McCallie Avenue). There is parking all around this building. On the southeast corner of Douglas Street and McCallie Avenue, we have a large parking lot with convenient access to our nursery for young families. This parking lot has designated spots for visitor parking.
First Presbyterian’s Children & Youth Ministries
We have ministries available for children of all ages. Nursery (birth to 3 yrs), Pre-School (ages 4 yrs, by Aug.30th, to Kindergarten), and Elementary (1st to 5th grade). Our Youth Ministry (6th to 12th grades) meets in the First Presbyterian located directly across from the Sanctuary at 535 McCallie Avenue at 9:45 am for food and fellowship with Bible studies beginning at 10 am.
If your child has special needs that would require extra assistance please contact our Children’s Ministry Director, Dana Lail.
Join a Sunday School Community
One of the best ways to get connected and grow within the context of our church is by participating in one of our Sunday School fellowships. These meet at 9:45 am throughout our campus.

What to Expect at First Presbyterian
Visiting any place for the first time can be intimidating, which is why we encourage you to come as you are. We invite you to participate as much as you’d like in our worship service and/or Sunday School fellowship. But you also are welcome to just come and observe. Our Sunday morning worship service features a dynamic, traditional musical style and a commitment to faithfully preaching the Bible. Many of our members dress in business causal, however, we want you to feel comfortable coming as you like.
Ultimately, First Presbyterian is a place where we pray you will encounter the truth, beauty, and goodness of the gospel. We are here for the “convinced” and the “unconvinced,” the lost, the found, the burned, the bored, and the cynical. No matter where you are on the spiritual spectrum, we hope that you will join us as we thoughtfully and intentionally strive to honor God and make much of Jesus in Chattanooga and throughout the world.
