Walker State Prison Ministry

 “Life-on-Life” prison mentoring and discipleship

First Presbyterian Church is the catalyst in our community to raise and train several hundred mentors for prisoners incarcerated at Walker State Prison, the first and only “Faith and Character Based” Prison in the State of Georgia. Christian men from dozens of local churches and a variety of denominations minister one-on-one in one of the most unique prison ministries in the United States. We are making a difference. More about Walker State Prison Ministry (Men serving Men)

To accomplish this ministry, First Presbyterian partners with Metanoia Prison Ministries, the national prison ministry of the PCA. Metanoia facilitates our work by developing manuals, training materials, conducting training, and encouraging the participation of other churches. What Metanoia learns here it is taking to mentoring ministries in prisons elsewhere in the country.
