One child. One hour. One church. One school . . . Kids Hope USA

Mentors working with inner city children at Orchard Knob Elementary

KIDS HOPE USA is a nationwide organization that helps churches set up mentoring programs in schools for at-risk children.

We are looking for caring mentors to commit to spend one hour per week during the school day, reading, talking, helping with homework, playing, and listening to a child at Orchard Knob Elementary School. A thorough training and orientation will be provided as well as resources and ongoing support.

Developing a safe, trusting relationship will help the child feel valued and will help meet emotional, social, and academic needs.  We are also looking for prayer partners. Each mentor/mentee relationship in the program will be wrapped in prayer by a behind-the-scenes prayer partner. Prayer is the foundation for the success of the relationship.

Focus is at Orchard Knob Elementary School – school mentoring. (The Good News Club’s focus is teaching the gospel to Orchard Knob students.)
